The Nines are Number One

Only one film was able to crack $10,000 on the per theater chart this week as The Nines earned an average of $11,809 in its two theaters. Vanaya came reasonably close with $8,770 in its lone theater while Exiled showed some promise with an average of $7,751 in two. Quiet City managing just $4,860 in its one theater, but at least it made $8,452 since Wednesday. Ladron Que Roba a Ladron did very well considering its wide release earning $1.63 million in 340 theaters for an average of $4,783. Self Medicated struggled with just $2,867 while Freshman Orientation bombed with just $930.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Charts alumni:

• Chak De India reached $1 million over the weekend, but that is as far as it will go.
• Ladron Que Roba a Ladron earned more than $1 million over the weekend and actually cracked $2 million if you include holiday Monday.
• Death at a Funeral earned $1 million over the weekend and now has a running tally of $4 million. Microscopic weekly declines should help the film stick around a while longer, while the word-of-mouth should help it even more on the home market.
• Becoming Jane topped $15 million over the weekend, barely, and could reach $20 million, but it will be very close.
