Movie Website Updates for September 2 - September 8, 2007

September 9, 2007

Another week without any top-notch websites, at least one that hasn't previously won the award. At least there are a few with possibilities and the fall blockbusters should start coming launching their sites shortly so the pace should pickup soon.

3:10 to Yuma - Official Site
All the usual features are but the only extras are a behind-the-scenes featurette and a section on the soundtrack. It's not bad, but just too average.

30 Days of Night - Official Site
The multi-player game is now online. It takes a bit to get used to, but it's fun.

Amusement - Official Site
Nothing.

Beowulf - Official Site
There's a new section called The Mead Hall which is an interactive section with plenty of clips, however, some are too short to be a big selling point.

The Brothers Solomon - Official Site
One of those movies where this site is better than the movie. Unfortunately, there's not much new from when the site won the award meaning the bios are still marked coming soon.

The Bubble - Official Site
MySpace. And not even a particularly interesting MySpace page.

The Dark Knight - Official Site
The teaser trailer is online, but not on the site yet. Too much teaser for me, but it's still enough to get me wanting to see more.

Darkon - Official Site
Just a trailer and a link to the MySpace page. However, the trailer is pretty cool, in a RPG geek kind of way, and I say that as a RPG geek.

Darling - Official Site
All the usual features with a lot of clips. It's hard to tell if the clips will help sell the movie cause there's little or no dialogue and what dialogue there is not in English.

December Boys - Official Site
The two clips were added to the site.

Eastern Promises - Official Site
Five more clips were added to the site this week and they should help sell the film, but this movie doesn't have a massive, widespread appeal. It's just too violent for that.

Elizabeth - The Golden Age - Official Site
A whole new look, and a few new clips to go with it, (both audio and video). In addition to most of the regular features, (bios are MIA at the moment), there are three extras: Interactive Timeline and Building the Golden Age, and clips. The final two are still marked coming soon, but the overall site is very strong so far and depending on the quality of the Building the Golden Age and the number of clips, this could be an award-winning site.

Feast of Love - Official Site
Flash site is up, but there's little in the way of content. The most notable aspect is the ability to post messages and set your mood. It's not much, but it is better than most.

Fierce People - Official Site
Just the trailer and a link to the MySpace page. Disappointing.

Good Luck Chuck - Official Site
A memory game was added to the site, but it's not just a memory game but a video memory game. It's a nice twist and I'll give them bonus points for it.

Hatchet - Official Site
Good site with lots and lots of information, but not a very polished feel to it. However, given the film's old school appeal, this fits nicely.

The Hunting Party - Official Site
Just the basics with a really cool song in the background.

In the Shadow of the Moon - Official Site
Like most documentary sites, this one is heavy on content, especially background information, but light on style. Still, the trailer should sell the film to its target audience.

Milarepa: Magician, Murderer, Saint - Official Site
A lot of information, but it looks like a blog and isn't very polished.

Shoot 'Em Up - Official Site
No changes from last week. This leaves the site with the basics and a few R-rating video clips.

Sweeney Todd - Official Site
New look. When it first loaded I was so excited, but there's absolutely no content. However, the movie doesn't open till Christmas, so we have plenty of time.

Sydney White - Official Site
The site is still down, and it's not like there's a lot of time for them to fix it as the movie opens in a couple weeks.

Things We Lost in the Fire - Official Site
The synopsis and the images were added to the site this week, as was a section to let people, "let go and free themselves."

Trade - Official Site
The site is back, which probably means when I jumped in last week, it was right when they was upgrading the site. As for the upgrade, the site now has all of the usual features plus a section to get involved in the problem of human trafficing.

We Own the Night - Official Site
The full site is online and it has all of the usual features as well as video clips for intros to each section. This used to be enough to be considered award worthy, now it's just average.
