Devil's Far from Dead on the Per Theater Chart

October 30, 2007

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead opened in first place on the per theater chart with an impressive average of $36,919 in two theaters. Pete Seeger: Power in Song and Wristcutters: A Love Story were well back but still strong with averages of $11,945 and $10,506 respectively. While those were the only three films to creak $10,000 on the per theater chart, two others came very, very close: Saw IV at $9,977 and Blade Runner at $9,915.

Bella was the best of the rest pulling in an average of $8,051, which is even more impressive since its theater count was 165. On the other hand, Music Within struggled with an average of $3,103 in 17 theaters. Rails & Ties performed even worse with $2,206 while How to Cook Your Life was close behind with $2,185. The rest of the releases all failed to reach $2000 on the per theater chart starting with Mr. Untouchable at $1,854, Man from Plains at $1,488, Black Irish at $1,380, and finally Slipstream at $1,046.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a couple Per Theater Charts alumni:
