High School Musical 3: Senior Year fell below $10 million this past weekend, but we still able to remain in second place internationally earning $8.65 million on 4642 screens in 34 markets for a total of $123.01 million internationally and $207.178 million worldwide. The only opening of note this weekend came in Russia, however, the film struggled there placing sixth with $353,000 on 128 screens. Its best market was the U.K. where it added $1.46 million on 483 screens over the weekend for a total of $31.76 million.

  • Dostana opened in third place internationally, which is very impressive for an Indian film. Over the weekend it made $8.37 million on 813 screens in 17 markets and this is more than many such films earn in total.
  • Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa added $6.36 million on 990 screens in 7 markets for a still early total of $48.22 million. The film opened in first place in Singapore with $1.04 million on 65 screens over the weekend, and $1.23 million including previews. While it added $2.15 million on 710 screens in Russia for a total there of $39.40 million after three weeks of release.
  • Saw V brought in $5.68 million on 1977 screens in 33 markets for a total of $33.31 million. This includes a first place, $2.82 million opening on 300 screens in Spain, which is a market where horror films tend to do well.
  • Changeling made its international debut in sixth place with $4.46 million on 699 screens in 4 markets. This includes France, where it made $2.58 million on 415 screens, placing second in the process. While it also did well in Italy ($1.62 million on 299 screens) and in Belgium ($209,000 on 33 screens over the weekend and $264,000 in total) earning third place in both markets.
  • Red Cliff is about to hit the century mark internationally with $95.56 million, including $3.74 million on 543 screens in Japan this past weekend.
  • Max Payne exploded into eighth place with $3.70 million on 1370 screens in 16 markets for a total of $30.63 million after a month of release. Its biggest opening can in France where it scored $1.72 million on 377 screens, which was enough for fourth place. Meanwhile, it place second in the U.K. with an opening on $1.50 million on 373 screens.
  • La Fidanzata Di Papà opened in first place in its native Italy and 9th place overall with $3.68 million on 525 screens.
  • Body Of Lies fell to tenth place with $3.33 million on 1065 screens in 11 markets for a total of $22.63 million. The film had no major or even midlevel openings this past weekend, while it earned $1.37 million on 303 screens in Spain for a two-week total of $4.18 million and $1.31 million on 420 screens in France for a total of $4.86 million, also after two weeks.
  • Public Enemy Number One Part 1 slipped out of the top ten with $3.11 million on 910 screens in 5 markets over the weekend for a total of $19.84 million after four. Of this total, $14.88 million has come from France, including $1.43 million this past weekend. Additionally, it opened in Russia with $1.17 million on 345 screens, which was enough for fourth place in that market.
  • Burn After Reading is coasting on holdovers at the moment earning $2.78 million on 1467 screens in 26 markets for a total of $67.74 million. However, it is yet to open in France and Japan, as well as a few midlevel markets.
  • Mindo, Portrait Of A Beauty opened in first place in South Korea and thirteenth place internationally with $2.53 million on 479 screens over the weekend and $3.04 million in total.
  • Happy Fight opened in second place in Japan and 14th internationally with $2.25 million on 307 screens.
  • Vilaine opened in third place in France with $2.14 million on 225 screens while it had to settle for eighth place in Belgium with $73,000 on 11 screens.
  • Nights in Rodanthe fell to 16th place with $2.05 million on 1366 screens in 35 markets for a total of $27.76 million.
  • Welcome to the Sticks added $1.88 million on 546 screens in 8 markets for a total of $223.31 million internationally. This is better than many Hollywood blockbusters, including Wanted, while it is not that far behind Sex and the City.
  • Zack And Miri Make A Porno opened in 18th place on the international charts with $1.83 million on 564 screens in 4 markets for a total of $1.99 million so far. The film opened in fourth place in the U.K. with $1.19 million on 340 screens while it placed fifth in Russia with $474,000 on 192 screens.
  • Vicky Cristina Barcelona earned $1.74 million on 666 screens in 15 markets over the weekend for a total of $41.73 million. Its only opening of note came in Brazil where it placed second with $503,000 on 85 screens over the weekend and $578,000 in total.
  • Antique opened in third place in South Korea and 20th place internationally with $1.61 million on 426 screens over the weekend and $2.32 million in total.
  • Golmaal Returns had the worst performance on the international chart this past weekend down 63% while falling from 6th place to 21st. It did add $1.59 million on 651 screens in 14 markets to its running tally of $17.95 million, which is a strong result for an Indian film.
  • The Accidental Husband returned to the chart in 22nd place with $1.48 million on 453 screens in 3 markets for a total of $12.66 million. It did managed a second place, $1.16 million opening on 346 screens in Germany. That said, its domestic release date has been pushed back so many times that I'm starting to think it will never be released here, at least not theatrically.
  • Journey to the Centre of the Earth added $1.39 million on 608 screens in 21 markets for a total of $112.72 million internationally. The film has yet to open in South Korea, but it is likely very close to showing a profit, if it is not profitable already.
  • Ghost opened in third place in Russia with $1.23 million on 410 screens, while it made $125,000 on 32 screens in the Ukraine.
  • Yes! Pretty Cure 5 slipped to third place in Japan and 25th internationally with $1.35 million on 150 screens over the weekend for a total of $3.57 million after two.
  • Mamma Mia! has likely spent its last weekend on the international chart. It did managed 26th place this past weekend with $1.34 million on 1340 screens in 33 markets for a total of $420.94 million while it now has $564.64 million worldwide.
  • Suspect X placed fourth in Japan and 27th internationally with $1.27 million on 325 screens over the weekend, while it has now makde $44.79 million in total.
  • The final million dollar movie was WALL-E with $1.19 million on 1417 screens in 16 markets for a total of $263.65 million. It will likely drop off the chart next weekend, but it will return when it opens in Japan at the beginning of December.
