Awards Season - Direct and to the Point

The latest guild to hand out awards was the DGA, which did so last night. There were only two awards dealing with theatrical releases, and Slumdog Millionaires managed yet another win.

  • It comes as no surprise that Danny Boyle won for Slumdog Millionaires, and it is clear that that film is the odds on favorite to become the big winner on Oscar night.
  • On the other hand, I thought Man on Wire has a real shot at topping Waltz with Bashir. Even so, I wouldn't call this one a real surprise either.
