International Details - Dusk for Ice Age

Ice Age - Dawn of the Dinosaurs fell out of the top five this past weekend earning $7.08 million on 3521 screens in 35 markets for a total of $670.44 million internationally and $865.11 million worldwide. It is now the third highest grossing film internationally of all time, while it is 18th place worldwide. That's quite a gap. The film remained in first place in Italy earning $3.14 million on 690 screens over the weekend for a total of $33.63 million after three. So far the film has earned more than 77% of its worldwide box office internationally, which is a very high percentage, and it will keep creeping higher as its international run comes to a close.
- The Taking Of Pelham 1 2 3 also fell out of the top five with $4.04 million on 2061 screens in 42 markets for a total of $56.41 million. The film opens in Italy and Mexico this weekend, and in Germany the weekend after that. Once that happens, its disappointing run is all but over.
- The Proposal added $3.90 million on 1761 screens in 36 markets for a total of $130.77 million internationally and $292.41 million worldwide. Its next opening of note is France, where it debuts next week, while it opens in Japan next month.
- The Hangover is coasting on holdovers as it added $3.86 million on 2112 screens in 27 markets for a total of $177.20 million internationally and $450.33 million worldwide.
- The Ugly Truth rose into the top ten despite dropping 12% from last weekend to $3.65 million on 1371 screens in 27 markets for a total of $33.78 million. It has a big list of openings next week, so it should continue its climb up the charts.
- Twentieth Century Boys - Chapter 3 remained in first place in Japan, but fell out of the top ten internationally with $3.57 million on 374 screens over the weekend for a total of $30.84 million after two. Again, this is a lot of money, but its weekly decline of 38% was high for the market.
- 9 charted for the first time with $3.56 million on 1069 screens in 11 markets for a still early total of $7.51 million. It opened in second place in Russia with $2.17 million on 531 screens over the weekend for a total of $2.63 million. On the other hand, it bombed in South Korea with just $287,000 on 226 screens over the weekend and $345,000 in total. The film opens in Italy and the U.K. next month, while it has opens well into next year.
- Gamer reached the top 30 for the first time in its run as well. This past weekend it earned $3.44 million on 1227 screens in 14 markets for a total of $5.53 million. The film opened in fourth place in Russia with $916,000 on 294 screeners, while it managed fifth place in France with $1.60 million on 342 screens, but that was for the full week.
- G.I.Joe was relatively flat down 11% and one place with $3.25 million on 2940 screens in 55 markets for a total of $144.86 million internationally. The film was aided by its opening in Italy, where it placed second with $1.65 million on 341 screens.
- G-Force landed in 15th place with $2.86 million on 2367 screens in 30 markets for a total of $80.57 million internationally. The film had no major market openings this past weekend, but it opens in Australia this weekend and Italy next weekend. It also has several major market openings next month and doesn't end its run till it opens in Japan next year.
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince added $2.30 million on 2701 screens in 41 markets for a total of $632.60 million internationally and $931.45 million worldwide. Since last week it has overtaken The Two Towers for eighth place on the worldwide chart, and it now has its sights set on The Order of the Phoenix.
- Aliens in the Attic added $2.29 million on 1536 screens in 19 markets to its total of $23.58 million. By this time next week it will have made more internationally than it did domestically.
- Funny People had its best weekend on the international chart placing 18th with $2.21 million on 744 screens in 7 markets for a total of $9.09 million so far. This includes a second place opening in Australia with $1.54 million on 241 screens.
- My Sister's Keeper returned to the chart in 19th place with $2.09 million on 1090 screens in 21 markets for a total of $30.32 million. The film had three major market openings over the weekend, but struggled in all of them. It placed best in Brazil with just $311,000 on 92 screens, which was enough for fifth place. On the other hand, it managed just ninth place in South Korea with $310,000 on 199 screens over the weekend for a total of $389,000. The film missed the top ten in France with $526,000 on 135 screens, but that was for the full week.
- Another returning film was My Bloody Valentine 3D, which placed 20th with $2.07 million on 442 screens in 10 markets for a total of $47.27 million. The vast majority of the film's weekend haul came from Spain, where it opened in fisrt place with $1.77 million on 310 screens over the weekend, which was enough for second place.
- X-Men Origins - Wolverine opened in second place in Japan with $1.96 million on 514 screens over the weekend, which was enough to lift its international total of $187.65 million.
- Take Off remained in first place in South Korea while it fell to 22nd place internationally with $1.91 million on 398 screens over the weekend giving it a total of $43.25 million after seven weeks of release.
- Le Coach opened in second place in France and 23rd place internationally with $1.89 million on 367 screens.
- Aeja opened in second place in South Korea and 24th place internationally with $1.85 million on 335 screens over the weekend and $2.29 million in total.
- Ballad - Song of Love Without a Name slipped to third place in Japan and 25th place internationally with $1.80 million on 331 screens over the weekend for a total of $7.03 million after two.
- Neuilly Sa Mère! slipped to 26th with $1.78 million on 494 screens in 3 markets for a total of $16.01 million after a month of release. Of that, $15.43 million was earned in France, including $2.08 million on 469 screens during the past full week.
- He's Just Not That Into You just about fell out of the top 30, again, with $1.74 million on 319 screens over the weekend for a total of $84.44 million. Of its weekend haul, all of it was earned in Spain, where it earned third place this past weekend and $4.19 million during its run.
- Il Grande Sogno opened in third place in Italy with $1.61 million on 402 screens.
- Sorority Row started its international run in 29th place with $1.60 million on 664 screens in 3 markets. This is not a good start, especially since it missed the top ten in both Australia and Mexico, so it is not an issue of opening in relatively small markets.
- Orphan rounded out the top 30 with $1.59 million on 902 screens in 23 markets for a total of $17.60 million.
