Movie Websites Launches for Aril 9 - April 15

April 15, 2004

During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. Here the list of this week's releases, a couple of new sites and few updates including the winner for the week, The Punisher - Official Site. If you know of any new movie websites not on this list feel free to e-mail me with the details.

13 going on 30
Current Content: With just a week left till its opening most of the remaining content was added to the site. Some regular features like cast and crew bios were added, as were some extras like a couple of personality quizzes. That leaves just three for features left, (80-size it, Jenna's Look and 17 Years from Now.) However, while the site has a lot of content, it doesn't seem to be coming together as a cohesive whole. Also, the lack of sound hurts.

Anchorman
Current Content: The flash site launched, but it's mostly marked coming soon. So far we just have the trailer, character bios and some exclusive footage.

Around the World in 80 Days
Current Content: Like the last update, this one is a day late. I'll check back before I publish this list.

Kill Bill: Volume 2
Current Content: Last week's award winning site had just the press notes added to the site. Hopefully the cast and crew bios will be added shortly.

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events
Current Content: Just the teaser site, which is almost too weird to explain. There's a few images, a synopsis and some eyes to collect. Each eye gives you a AIM Icon and a Wallpaper to download. The format is quite good, as is the style of the writing.

Mean Girls
Current Content: Another game was added to the site, this time it was Wardrobe Week. With two weeks till the release, there's plenty of time for the last four features to be added.

New York Minute
Current Content: The new trailer was added to the site replacing the old one.

The Punisher
Current Content: A good site in four parts with lots of background information. In fact, it has more background information than standard movie information. No cast and crew bios, no production notes, and no synopsis in the strictest sense just what you piece together from the rest of the site. Fortunately, there are other sites to get some of that information, like this one. What the site does have great background information and excellent mood, the best mood for a movie site since Identity - (Official Site). The mood is enough for the site to win the vengeful Weekly Website Award.

Saved!
Current Content: The main site launched this week and it has some audio clips as well as a little animation. As for the content, it's mostly just the basics, synopsis, trailer, etc. There is one game, but it's just a quick personality quiz.

Spider-Man 2
Current Content: The new trailer is on the site. Tee hee he he he! Ok. Breathe. In … Out … In … Out … OK, I've got my inner nerd under control. We can move on.

Troy
Currently Content: The IPIX are working. They were supposedly added a while ago but I kept getting errors.

Two Brothers
Current Content: Slight change in the format of the placeholder site.

Van Helsing
Current Content: Just check out the site and it's gone. Probably momentary, I'll do one quick check before I publish this story to double check.

It's back. There's a few more non-movie related links on the placeholder site but nothing on the movie itself.

Young Adam
Current Content: No changes since the site first launched.
