Per Theater Chart: Flight and Ralph Fly Above the Competition
The best new limited release was A Late Quartet with an average of $8,364 in nine theaters, which is an impressive start. This Must Be the Place was weak with an average of $3,877 in two theaters. However, at least it avoided the Mendoza Line, something the rest of the limited releases were unable to do. The Details earned an average of $1,323, but it was playing in 14 theaters. A Liar's Autobiography was right behind with an average of $1,276 in four theaters, but it debuted on TV as well as in theaters. The Bay was well back with an average of $866 in 23 theaters. Wrong genre and too many theaters really hurt this film. Vamps made just $548 in its lone theater. Jack and Diane was even weaker with an average of just $147 in two theaters.
There were no major milestones this past week. Hopefully Awards Season will kick into full gear soon, very soon.
