Blu-ray Sales: New Releases are Broken Down

There was only one new release to chart on the week of July 28th, 2013 edition of the Blu-ray sales chart and it only managed fourth place. This left 42 in first place with 109,000 units / $2.67 million for the week giving it two-week totals of 336,000 units / $7.89 million. Evil Dead remained in second place with 58,000 units / $1.26 million for the week and 200,000 units / $4.28 million after two. Despicable Me rose to third place with 42,000 units / $831,000 for the week. Its totals now sit at 2.79 million units / $65.94 million, making it the 12th best selling Blu-ray of all-time. The only new release to chart was Vehicle 19, which landed in fouth place with 27,000 units / $306,000 for the week, giving it an opening week Blu-ray share of 28%, which isn't bad for a limited release. Rounding out the top five was Oz the Great and Powerful with 26,000 units / $736,000 for the week and 815,000 units / $22.72 million after seven.
