It has been almost a full year since I last reviewed a SpongeBob SquarePants DVD. The latest release is SpongeBob and Friends: Patrick SquarePants. Like previous releases, there are a number of stories, starting with...
Before we get to the show, there are several episodes that I've previous reviewed, so I won't repeat what I said, but just link to the earlier reviews.
There are no extras on the DVD.
SpongeBob SquarePants: SpongeBob and Friends: Patrick SquarePants is more than three hours long, which is much longer than most similar releases. Granted, there are more than a few double-dips and a couple of weak stories, but the overall value is still strong.

Patrick is panicking, because his parents are coming and they think he's stupid... well, more stupid than he actually is. They come up with a plan. SpongeBob will act really, really stupid so Patrick will seem smarter than he is. The plan works, until Patrick forgets it was just an act and starts to think SpongeBob really is stupid... well, more stupid than he actually is.
I'm sure I reviewed this one in the past, but I can't find the link if I did. Patrick wants to play with SpongeBob, but SpongeBob has to go to boating school. SpongeBob invites Patrick to school. Patrick is a bad student and gets SpongeBob in trouble.
This is a double-length episode. At the beginning, SpongeBob and Patrick go to a Medieval themed restaurant and get picked to be in the jousting act. However, an accident sends them flying and when they land, they are in the past. They are first arrested for witchcraft, but then learn they are part of a prophecy to save the village from an evil one-eyed wizard.
SpongeBob and Patrick are out catching jellyfish when Patrick accidentally runs off a cliff. The impact below sends the top of his head flying, but when SpongeBob reattaches it, something happens. Patricks brain begins to work and he's super smart. At first this is great, but can SpongeBob and Patrick's friendship survive now that Patrick is a genius.
Patrick thinks an assassin is out to kill him and he has to leave town. SpongeBob doesn't want this to happen, so he comes up with a plan. Patrick will disguise himself as Patricia. Not only does this work, but suddenly every guy, including Mr. Krabs and Squidward want to date her.
SpongeBob takes his boating test for the 58th time, and fails for the 58th time. Patrick thinks the test must be rigged, so he tries it, and passes. Patrick not only gets his license on his first try, he wins a car. Suddenly SpongeBob is really jealous.
Patrick gives SpongeBob a huge wad of chewed up gum as a gift. No, it's huger than that. It's so big that it barely squeezes through the door. At first SpongeBob is honored to get such a gift, but soon decides it has to go. This turns out to be a difficult task.

After SpongeBob and Patrick spend the morning yelling cars, Patrick falls asleep. When he wakes up, he has a beard. However, while he looks grown-up, he doesn't know what grown ups do, so Squidward tries to teach him.
Squidward's latest work of art is judged by a world famous art critic, but the critic hates it so much, that he confiscates Squidward's beret. On the other hand, he calls Patrick's googly eye rock amazing and gives him Squidward's hat. Soon Patrick's rocks become so popular that he runs out of rocks. Will he find a new medium to work with?
SpongeBob has to go to his Gramma's birthday party. He needs someone to take care of Gary. Squidward refuses, but Patrick agrees to help. However, while SpongeBob is at Gramma's party, he gets so worried that Gary is in trouble he begins to panic. He has good reason to. The Extras
