Power Rangers: Megaforce: The Robo Knight Before Christmas - Buy from Amazon: DVD

I have no idea how many Power Rangers DVDs I've reviewed over the years. The latest is a Christmas special called The Robo Knight Before Christmas. Is it worth picking up for fans of the show?

The Show

  1. The Robo Knight Before Christmas
The episode begins with Robo Knight acting confused. He does that a lot. This time he is confused why humans are putting up lights and cutting down trees. He thinks they might be under the effect of Vrak. He has to have the concept of Christmas explained to him. He decides to observe the Christmas traditions at the local mall, right where the gifts donation section is. That night, he is mistaken for a donation, packed up, and sent to Africa. When he arrives, we get a clip show about what he's learned from humans.
    Clip show.
  2. Wild Force: Team Carnival
This is an episode from Wild Force, which is the tenth season in the show. This is the first time I've seen it, as I wasn't reviewing DVDs when it first came out in 2002. Firstly, I'd forgotten how bad the acting was in some of the older incarnations of this franchise. Also, it is really hard to take a villain named Sugar Rush seriously.
  3. Jungle Fury - The Spirit of Kindness
I have previously reviewed this incarnation and I thought it was on par with previous installments when I first reviewed it. However, since then I've seen RPM and Megaforce, which are much better.

The Extras

There are no extras on the DVD.

The Verdict

There are only three episodes on The Robo Knight Before Christmas, which means the price-per-minute is a little high for this type of release. Worse still, none of the three episodes are worth recommending.
