Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb rose to first place with $46.2 million in 48 markets for totals of $148.6 million internationally and $248.1 million worldwide. This includes a $26.39 million "opening" in China for an 8-day total of $31.06 million. 8-day opening? It also opened in first place in Russia with $5.55 million on 1,690 screens.

Taken 3 was in a close second place with $40.4 million in 37 markets for an early international total of $52.3 million. The film's biggest market was the U.K., where it made $10.23 million in 483 theaters. Other major markets include Australia with $4.8 million on 287 screens and Germany with $4 million on 443 screens. It has likely reached $100 million worldwide and will very likely more than double that before its run is over.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies fell from first to third with $21.8 million in 66 markets over the weekend for totals of $545.3 million internationally and $781.8 million worldwide. The film will reach $800 million worldwide very shortly and with its debut in China still to come, it could reach more than $900 million before its run is over.

Exodus: Gods and Kings was fourth with $15.0 million in 42 markets for an international total of $168.1 million. The film has a few more markets left to open in, but it likely won't make enough to break even any time soon.

Miss Granny opened in second place in China with $15 million over the weekend for a four-day opening of $19.96 million and a total opening of $20.10 million, including some previews.

Big Hero 6 remained in sixth place with $12.6 million in 55 markets over the weekend for totals of $194.5 million internationally and $409.0 million worldwide. There were no new major markets this weekend, but we can report the film has earned $44.4 million in Japan, becoming the second biggest Disney release in that market, behind only Frozen.

Penguins of Madagascar fell to seventh place with $9.0 million in 30 markets over the weekend for totals of $207.9 million internationally and $287.8 million worldwide. The film will cross $300 million worldwide relatively soon, which is enough to be considered a solid hit. It is nowhere near enough to compete with the previous installment in the franchise.

Ode to My Father again earned first place in South Korea, this time added $8.48 million over the weekend in its native country for a total of $70.11 million after nearly a month of release.

Seventh Son dropped to ninth place with $8.1 million in 34 markets over the weekend for a total of $35.7 million. The film had no major market openings this past weekend, while it fell to third place in Russia with $3.18 million on 1,048 screens over the weekend for a two-week total of $16.51 million. The film doesn't open here till February and there are many who think it won't make $35 million during its domestic run.

Into The Woods popped into the top ten, barely, with $7.6 million in 16 markets for an early international total of $15.3 million. The film made $3.78 million in 474 theaters in the U.K., as well as $3 million in Australia, giving the film second place in both markets.
