The Screen Actors Guild winners were announced Sunday and there were some surprises, mostly in the negative. Birdman picked up the biggest prize, but there were six different winners in the six categories.

The categories and winners are...

Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role

Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture

Notes and Reactions...

  • Again, there's not much to say, as there were not a lot of surprises.
  • Eddie Redmayne beat out Michael Keaton for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role, which was the biggest surprise of the night. I really hope this isn't a portent for Oscar night.
  • Unbroken won for Stunt Ensemble, which is also a bit surprising.
  • The rest of the awards went to the overwhelming favorites.
