Marlon Brando is considered by many to be the greatest actor that ever lived, but didn't appear in many box office hits during his career from the early fifties until he died in July 2004. He became famous with his role in A Streetcar Named Desire and won on oscar 3 years later in 1954 for his performance in On the Waterfront. He won another Oscar for the memorable performance as Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather in 1972.
In the late seventies he got paid lots of money for small parts in Superman and Apocalypse Now. It was rumoured that he was difficult to work with which might have been the cause that he has appeared in few movies afterwards.
