Tom HanksAbout Tom HanksStarting out as the star of cross dressing sit-com Bosom Buddies, Tom Hanks made a succesful transition to the big screen with fantasy comedy Splash. After starring in a number of comedies, he tried the change to more serious movies. First there was the failed attempt Bonfire of the Vanities. His portrayal of an AIDS victim in Philadelphia won him a Best Acting Oscar and made him one of the most popular actors of the decade.
