Movie Website Updates for August 12 - August 18, 2007

August 18, 2007

Busy week with more than 30 sites featured on the list. However, none really stand our as award-worthy; in fact, most only stand because of a lack of style. Hopefully as the fall season progresses and we near the holidays, we will get bigger and better sites launching.

7 Days - Official Site
All the usual features plus more style than most sites on this week's list.

The 11th Hour - Official Site
A lot more style than most documentary sites and equal parts information on the movie and information on how to be more environmentally sound.

American Fusion - Official Site
All of the basics and more style than most sites on this week's list.

Balls of Fury - Official Site
Even more clips were added to the site lifting the total to more than a dozen.

Beowulf - Official Site
The restricted trailer was added to the site, but I'm still not sold on the project.

Dan in Real Life - Official Site
The placeholder site is up, but everything but the synopsis and the trailer are marked coming soon.

Day Zero - Official Site
Simply site with just the basics, (minus a photo gallery), and a poll as the only extras.

Death at a Funeral - Official Site
No real changes for a while. The site is better than average, but doesn't do enough to stand out.

Delirious - Official Site
Good content, bad style. I do like the number of clips on the site.

Elizabeth - The Golden Age - Official Site
Just the synopsis, gallery, and trailer so far.

Great World of Sound - Official Site
Just the basics, in fact, the only a cast & crew list with no bios. Also, for a movie called Great World of Sound, the site is strangely silent.

Hatchet - Official Site
A lot of content, including a store and some trivia. However, there's not a whole lot of style here and it doesn't seem very polished.

The Hunting Party - Official Site
New look, but just the basics in terms of content and very little in the way of style.

In the Valley of Elah - Official Site
The full site launched this week, but it is just the basics with little in the way of style and nothing that makes it stand out.

Indiana Jones 4 - Official Site
The next video talks about the reunion of the cast and crew. It doesn't go into details on the new movie, but it is still fun to see.

The Invasion - Official Site
A very disappointing site with nothing to make it stand out, at least nothing positive.

Ira & Abby - Official Site
The trailer was added this week and it helped improved the film's potential in my mind. I'm not sold, but I'm more receptive than before.

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters - Official Site
More style than most documentary sites get, but not enough to stand out above the crowd, at least it wouldn't be if this was even an average week.

The Kingdom - Official Site
Some new features were added this week, including section for each of the main characters that include some background information as well as video clips.

The Last Legion - Official Site
Just the trailer, which doesn't sell the movie very well.

Mr. Untouchable - Official Site
Just the trailer so far.

No Country for Old Men - Official Site
New look and a short intro, but no new content.

P2 - Official Site
Just the teaser trailer, which was too much teaser and not enough trailer. It might be a good movie, but there's no way to tell with what we are given.

The Rape of Europa - Official Site
A lot of content here and more style than most documentary sites have, but not enough to stand out.

Resident Evil: Extinction - Official Site
Some more videos were added to the site, including a music video.

Self Medicated - Official Site
Another site with all the usual content but little in the way of style. Possibly the most impressive part of the site is the huge stack of awards listed.

Send a Bullet - Official Site
Typical documentary site without enough to make it stand out.

Shoot 'Em Up - Official Site
The regular features are now on the site.

Silk - Official Site
Just two words, "coming soon."

Sleuth - Official Site
The full site is up and it has the basics, but that's all. The trailer is there, but it is not as effective as I had hoped. I'm not writing of the movie, but I need more to be sold.

Splinter - Official Site
Just the basics with no sense of style and a trailer that hurts the film, not sell it.

Superbad - Official Site
Outside the restricted area, there's almost no content. Normally I would consider this a huge mistake, but it seems to have done well at the box office this weekend, so no one is complaining.

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story - Official Site
Just the trailer, which left me cold.
