Tiny is Anything But on Per Theater Chart

November 16, 2010

It was a close race for the top of the per theater chart with Tiny Furniture coming out on top with $21,235 in its lone theater. Second place went to 127 Hours with an average of $19,934 in 22 theaters. This bodes well for its chances of expanding.

The only other new limited release we have numbers for is Cool It, which failed to make much of an impact with an average of just $655 in 41 theaters. To put this in perspective, it barely made more in 41 theaters than Tiny Furniture made in just one.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Charts alumni:

  • Inside Job reached $1 million before the weekend and it is already more than halfway to $2 million.
  • Fair*Game earned more than $1 million during its second weekend of release and very likely already has $2 million since the weekend.
  • The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest made it to $2 million early last week and it is already nearly at $3 million.
  • Conviction hit $5 million since last time, but I can't see it getting to $10 million.
