Yo Gabba Gabba!: Let's Visit the Doctor - Buy from Amazon

The latest Yo Gabba Gabba! DVD is much like the previous releases and features four episodes of music and adventures for DJ Lance Rock and his friends: Muno, he's tall and friendly; Foofa, she's pink and happy; Brobee, the little green one; Toodee, she likes to have fun; and Plex, a magic robot. The four episodes are...

  1. Doctor
Toodee's friends have come over to play a game of Crazy Jumping Pirate Bugs, but she comes down with a cold and can't play. It gets so bad that celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain has to come by and pretends to be a doctor. What's he going to do? Give her a prescription for chicken soup? It's cool seeing him do a guest shot on the show, but couldn't he play a chef and teach the kids a healthy recipe?
  2. Teeth
Oh no! Muno's tooth is falling out. But as DJ Lance Rock and Toodee explain, they are just his baby teeth and after being scared, Muno is excited to lose his baby teeth. Then he gets even more excited when he learns about the Tooth Fairy, who is played by Amy Sedaris. Jerri Blank as the Tooth Fairy. Muno was right to be frightened.
  3. Clean
Oh no. It's anti-bacterial propaganda and Plex is telling everyone to be clean. We are way too paranoid about germs and getting dirty actually builds up immunities for later in life. That said, it's still a good episode, especially the music with Questlove and Frank Knuckles of The Roots.
  4. Car
As a special treat, DJ Lance Rock gives the gang a car that Plex can drive, but they have to learn about car safety along the way. (Like buckling your seat belt and not running into the street to go after a ball.)
And of course, lots of the recurring bits show up in these episodes, including Mark's Magic Pictures, Dancey Dance Time, Biz's Beat of the Day, Cool Tricks, not to mention numerous guest shots.

The Extras

There are no extras on the DVD.

The Verdict

Yo Gabba Gabba!: Let's Visit the Doctor should please fans of the show. It's price-per-minute is inline with other preschool shows and while it would have been nice to have some extras, if your kids liked the previous DVDs, this one is also worth picking up.
