Synopsis

James returns from Iraq to face a new battle--reintegrating into his small-town life in Texas. His wife, his mother, and his friend provide support, but they can't fully understand the pain and suffering he feels since his tour of duty ended. Lonely, James reconnects with an army buddy, who provides him with compassion and camaraderie during his battle to process his experiences in Iraq. But their reunion also exposes the different ways that war affects people—at least on the surface.

Get Low Finishes High on the Per Theater Chart

August 3rd, 2010

Get Low opened in first place on the per theater chart with an impressive average of $22,046. I expect it will be able to expand significantly. Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child was down barely more than 1% and added $17,226, while still playing in just one theater. The final film to make the $10,000 club was The Concert with an average of $10,871 in two theaters. More...

Death of Limited Releases

July 30th, 2010

There are a number of limited releases on this week's column. However, only one of them, Get Low, is earning overwhelmingly positive reviews and it is clearly the best bet for potential breakout success. On the other hand, if you live in Canada, The Death of Alice Blue is worth keeping an eye on to see if will expand to a theater near you. More...
