Jupiter Ascending earned first place on the international chart with $32.5 million. At first glance, this doesn't seem too bad for an opening weekend on the international chart, except the film was playing in 65 markets, so it doesn't have a lot of room to grow. Its biggest market was Russia, where it earned first place with $4.97 million on 1,900 screens. On the other hand, it only managed fourth place in South Korea with $1.67 million on 561 screens over the weekend for a total opening of $2.03 million.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water rose to first place with $16.2 million in 25 markets for a two-week total of $28.6 million. The film did really well in Brazil earning first place with $4.6 million in 508 theaters, which is $2 million more than the original film finished with in that market. It also opened in first place in Spain with $1.9 million on 329 screens, but this is a little lower than the first film's total in that market.

Big Hero 6 rose a spot to third place with $12.7 million in 33 markets for totals of $286.6 million internationally and $505.1 million worldwide. The film rose to first place in the U.K. with $3.91 million in 513 theaters for a two-week total of $11.51 million there. The film has made enough to break even before its home market it run and it should do well on DVD and Blu-ray.

Taken 3 landed in fourth place with $11.2 million in 50 markets for totals of $183.8 million internationally and $268.8 million worldwide after a month of release. The film had no major market openings this past weekend, but does open in Italy this weekend.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies fell to fifth place with $9.7 million in 48 markets for totals of $686.4 million internationally and $939.3 million worldwide after nine weeks of release. The film has pulled in $114.00 million in China, including $20.15 million for the past week.

Running Day fell from first to sixth internationally. It earned $8.0 million over the weekend in China for a total of $61.96 million in its native market.

It slipped to second place in the U.K. with $3.37 million in 545 theaters over the weekend for a two-week total of $12.69 million in its native market.
