Per Theater Chart: No Means Business

February 21, 2013

No led the way on the per theater chart with an average of $17,936 in four theaters. The Gatekeepers remained strong with an average of $11,296 in four theaters during its third weekend of release. This is very impressive longevity.

There were not many other new limited releases and only Like Someone in Love did well. It earned an average of $7,271 in three theaters. On the other hand, The Power of Few was weak with an average of just $3,807 in two theaters. Finally, Shanghai Calling earned an average of $2,611 in four.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Chart alumni:

  • The 2013 Oscar Shorts got to $1 million since this time last week and could be the first in the franchise to get to $2 million.
  • As expected, Stand-Up Guys reached $3 million, but that's as far as it will go.
  • Amour cracked $4 million, if you include Monday. Since it is a lock to win at least one Oscar, it should get to $5 million before too long.
  • Silver Linings Playbook has surpassed $90 million and as of Monday was less than $1 million from the century mark.
