Derniere dans Premier au Per Theater Charts

January 23, 2008

The re-release of L'Annee Derniere a Marienbad opened in first place on the per theater chart with $15,496 in its lone theater. Still Life was close behind with $12,744, also in one theater. The overall box office leader, Cloverfield, was the only other film to top $10,000 on the per theater chart with an average of $11,744 over the three-day portion of the weekend.

Summer Place was the best of the rest earning $8,717 over three days in one theater, and in fact earned $10,649 if you include Monday. Teeth took a bigger bite of the box office than expected with nearly $30,000 in four theaters for an average of $7,380. Likewise, Day Zero earned an average of $6,035 in two theaters while Taxi to the Dark Side earned an average of $5,465 also in two. The other new releases struggled with Beaufort and Casssandra's Dream pulling in nearly identical averages of $3,404 and $3,382 respectively. Finally, Blonde and Blonder missed the Mendoza line, but it came a lot closer than I thought it would, pulling in an average of $1,915 in 14 theaters.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Chart alumni:
