Fox Reporting $16.5 million - $17 million at midnight screenings

Fox is estimating a stunning $16.5 million to $17 million box office for last night's midnight screenings of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

While numbers are subject to revision, the movie's performance so far is well ahead of previous records (Lord of the Rings: Return of the King managed $8 million from its midnight screenings in 2003). We'll keep you posted on more news as it breaks.
