Theater Counts

September 15th, 2005

Reese Witherspoon already holds the record opening weekend title for September (courtesy of a $35.6 million opening for Sweet Home Alabama in 2002), and she'll be looking to break her record this weekend with the release of Just Like Heaven. Her chances got a good boost with the announcement that Heaven will be released in 3,508 theaters this weekend -- the widest release since The Dukes of Hazzard at the beginning of August. Lord of War also debuts in a robust 2,814 venues.
