Gay-themed "Cat" is Guttenberg's directorial debut

January 14th, 2003

Steve Guttenberg's directorial debut, P.S. Your Cat is Dead, will be opening in New York and California this coming Friday, January 17, and if the Police Academy star's screen version is as juicy as James Kirkwood Jr.'s 1972 novel and stage play, the gay crowd could be in for some kitty treats. P.S. spins the tale of a depressed writer whose girlfriend dumps him the same night he catches a gay buglar (Lambardo Boyar) in his apartment on New Year's Eve. During the night, the two chat and chat and blossom into best friends.

Guttenberg, who also stars in the film (which is being distributed through the fine folks at TLA Releasing), gave a candid interview to web critic Branden Judell through indieWire, posted at TLA's website. P.S. Your Cat is Dead, which also features, surprisingly, gossip-nut A.J. Benza, will expand slightly on January 24. (Please check local listings.)
