New on Disc: Come and See Will Come to You

June 30th, 2020

Come and See

The pandemic continues to have an adverse effect on the entertainment industry as a whole, including the home market, with the result that there are no major releases to talk about this week. There are some smaller releases, like The Ghost of Peter Sellers and The Short History of the Long Road, that are worth checking out. Orca: The Killer Whale! is in the “So bad it’s good” camp. That leaves Come and See: The Criterion Collection as the clear winner for Pick of the Week. More...

VOD Releases: Trolls Begin a New Tour on VOD

June 24th, 2020

Trolls World Tour

Trolls World Tour is easily the biggest release on this week’s list. In fact, it is bigger than the rest of the films combined. That said, while it should entertain kids, it isn’t the best release. The best is a two-way tie between The Ghost of Peter Sellers and Tokyo Olympiad—two documentaries that are worth checking out. More...

Home Market Releases for June 27th, 2017

June 27th, 2017

T2 Trainspotting

The biggest release of the week is Power Rangers, but it feels like a pilot to a TV show and not a self-contained movie. The best new release of the week is T2: Trainspotting and the Blu-ray Combo Pack. That said, if you don’t have Home Movies yet, then buy the Complete Series right now. More...
