Synopsis

An enigmatic musical poet—and the most documented classical musician of the last century—world-renowned pianist Glenn Gould continues to captivate international audiences twenty-six years after his untimely death. This documentary humanizes the legend, weaving together an array of footage, private home recordings and diaries, as well as compelling interviews with Gould’s most intimate friends and lovers—all exploring the incongruities between Gould’s private reality and his wider image.

DVD and Blu-ray Releases for March 1st, 2011

February 28th, 2011

It is an amazingly slow week on the home market with no first run releases that did well enough to be considered midlevel hits. That is if you don't count Megamind, which came out on Friday. There are a few that are worth picking up, but only one is a real contender for Pick of the Week: Bambi on Blu-ray / DVD Combo Pack. More...

Romantics Love the Per Theater Chart

September 14th, 2010

There were just a ton of films to reach the $10,000 mark on the per theater chart over the weekend, led by The Romantics with an average of $22,764 in two theaters. However, with its reviews, it probably won't last long. Heartbreak opened in second place with an average of $17,543 in three theaters, but it will likely have better legs. Ahead of Time and My Dog Tulip were neck-and-neck with $12,790 and $12,648 respectively. Finally, Dabangg opened with more than $600,000 in 62 theaters for an average of $10,131. More...
