Synopsis

Angelina is an 18-year-old on the verge of finishing high school, rushing to escape her broken family life. After reluctantly taking nude photos at her boyfriend’s behest, she takes the cash to skip town with her best friend. Angelina gets a job cocktailing in a San Francisco strip club where she meets Frances, an affluent lawyer who introduces her to a high-class world beyond her wildest dreams. At the same time, Angelina begins exploring San Francisco’s porn industry, using the moniker Cherry, under the wing of a former performer turned adult film director. But Angelina’s newfound ideal lifestyle soon comes apart at the seams.

DVD and Blu-ray Releases for January 15th, 2013

January 15th, 2013

It is a rather shallow week on the home market. Taken 2 should come away with an easy win, but after that, there's almost nothing that will reach the top 30 for the week. Also, Taken 2 is not Pick of the Week material. I don't know if there is anything that is truly Pick of the Week material. Wake in Fright comes the closest, but the DVD or Blu-ray is still late, I hate giving this title when I'm still waiting for the screener. More...

Per Theater Chart Perks Up

September 25th, 2012

The Perks of Being a Wallflower easily topped the per theater chart with an average of $57,090 in four theaters. This combined with its 81% positive reviews suggests a potential for significant expansion and long legs. Diana Vreeland - The Eye Has to Travel was also strong with an average of $21,233. This is an excellent start, but documentaries rarely expand significantly beyond the art house circuit. Occupy Unmasked just managed to top $10,000 on the per theater chart with an average of $10,238 in four theaters. More...

Limited Releases: The Perks of Being a Limited Release

September 21st, 2012

It's another busy week for limited releases. However, of the nine films on this week's list, only two of them are earning overwhelmingly positive reviews, and both of them are documentaries. There is one film that is earning great reviews and is also generating a lot of buzz, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. If that film isn't the biggest hit on this week's list, I would be shocked.
