Synopsis
Behind The Card covers the recent rise in the sports card industry as it becomes a place for investors and collectors to become millionaires overnight. The documentary showcases how a piece of cardboard can be turned into a $1M+ investment simply by adding an athlete’s face and signature. As we filmed the industry’s path from card creation to the end buyer, we’ve captured manipulation of the card market, theft of cards, online scams, new technological innovations and the unity of family and friends through its 100+ year history.
