Synopsis
The documentary celebrates the life and legacy of Chief Vincent Yellow Old Woman and the New Blood Dance Show; a highschool theatre production inspired by a poem written about his life and experiences in residential school, struggling with addiction as a young man, and eventually becoming Chief of Siksika Nation. In NEW BLOOD we see Vincent’s grandchildren and the next generation of Blackfoot youth bring his story to life through the dance show, conversations with Blackfoot elders, and the music of Peter Gabriel.
