Synopsis

A German girl working in a New York Jewish bakery receives a phone call from dead film star Marlene Dietrich. Viola assumes it's a prank played by her boyfriend, Sam, only to discover he's not behind the mysterious caller. She begins to realize that someone is watching her every move. The search for unwelcome surveillance leads to revelations of passionate love but also a much deeper mystery.
