Synopsis
London, 1910. Katharine Hilbery, granddaughter of a renowned poet, despises poetry, loves mathematics and does everything she can to avoid love. When her father catches her at a men-only Astronomical Society event, he demands that she give up her scientific ambitions and marry her oldest friend, William. But then Katharine meets the spirited women’s rights activist Mary at a tea party. And she stumbles across Ralph Denham, a charming working-class editor who completely throws her off her feet. When a comet passes by the earth and a serious blow of fate hits the family, the romantic omens change. William falls head over heels for Katharine’s cousin Cassandra, while Katharine can no longer ignore Ralph's attraction. Finally, she has to realize that science is not her only passion — and that the greatest discovery is not waiting in the sky, but right in front of her eyes.
