DVD Releases for May 9, 2006

May 8th, 2006

It's been a while since there was a DVD release that I was literally counting down the days for. But this week there is such a release: Scrubs - The Complete Third Season. That is not to say that is the only DVD I'll be picking up tomorrow, as my shopping list includes Masters of Horror - Chocolate / Incident on and off a Mountain Road, That '70s Show - The Complete Fourth Season and If Only. (That last one is only worth it if you are a big Jennifer Love Hewitt fan.) More...

Per Theatre Charts: Lone Bull

February 7th, 2006

Despite a steep-for-a-limited-release drop-off of 33%, Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story was again able to top the Per Theatre Average charts. In fact, its average of $13,568 was nearly double its nearest competitor. More...

Passenger in the Driver's Seat

November 1st, 2005

Note: Since this article was written, we have received opening weekend numbers for Ballet Russes, which earned $12,230 in a single theater, and tops the final chart

The re-release of The Passenger led the way on the per theatre charts, with an average of $12,079 in two theatres. Just behind was Paradise Now with a nearly identical average of $12,006, but the latter film did it in twice as many theatres. The only holdover to top $10,000 was Shopgirl, with 460,000 in 42 theatres for an average of $11,037. Lastly, the overall box office champ, Saw II , just managed to reach the that milestone with $31.7 million in 2,949 theatres for an average of $10,758. More...
