There were only two new releases to reach the top 30 on the rental chart, but they placed one - two on the charts. Alvin and the Chipmunks led the way with $8.74 million while Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Baker Street was right behind with $8.08 million. I Am Legend was knocked to third place adding $7.42 million to its three-week total of $27.50 million. The Mist earned $6.58 million in rentals this week for a total of $14.78 million after two; at this pace it should top its theatrical run in a few weeks. Finally, Enchanted earned $6.25 million over the week for a total of $21.81 million.

There were no other new releases to chart.
