IMAX: IMAX Feasts on The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games broke records on IMAX earning $10.2 million on 268 IMAX screens for an average of $38,000. This was a record for a 2D non-sequel and for a digital-only release. It also earned about $400,000 internationally. Unfortunately, it won't have long legs on IMAX, because Wrath of the Titans takes over on Friday ending The Hunger Games one-week run.
It continues to be a busy spring for IMAX with Titanic 3D on the 4th of April, while The Avengers opens on May the 4th, starting an equally busy summer.
