Synopsis

Rick Stevens is willing to do whatever it takes to try and win the heart of Nina Pennington—even if this means making a bet with a mobster’s son. The pressure is on, but the mob isn’t the only thing that’s standing in his way. If he ever hopes to land the girl of his dreams, he’ll also have to deal with a group of strippers, his best friend’s horny mother, his drug-abusing boss, a perverted principal, a priest with a really big secret, a sultry defense attorney, and a patron saint who dispenses cryptic advice. No one ever said love was easy.

DVD and Blu-ray Releases for October 28th, 2014

October 27th, 2014

It's a terrible week on the home market with no major releases. The biggest theatrical release is Begin Again, which earned excellent reviews, but opened in limited release and never expanded truly wide. The best new release on the list is the limited edition Breaking Bad: The Complete Series 2014 Barrel, but it costs more than $200, so it is out of the price range of most people. Besides those two releases, there's more filler than releases worth talking about. Begin Again wins Pick of the Week, practically by default, as it is the only release I can enthusiastically recommend. More...

Limited Releases: Call in the Calvary

August 1st, 2014

Calvary poster

There are an even dozen films on this week's list, but only Calvary is earning good reviews and strong buzz. Hopefully this will translate into ticket sales, or it will likely be a very bad week for limited releases. There are also a couple of documentaries that could do well in limited release, Finding Fela! and Rich Hill, but neither has the potential for breakout success. More...
