Synopsis
Chronicling her stormy passage through the sedate halls of an expensive Melbourne finishing school, the film delivers a rich and amusing portrait of an imaginative country girl who refuses to be broken to fit the mold of a Victorian-era young lady. Arriving in the dowdy clothes of her rural home, Laura is mercilessly teased until she learns to give as well as she gets - until a tiny white lie about an imagined love affair blows up in her face and clouds her future.
