A first place debut in China lifted Mission: Impossible 3
into sixth place overall with $5.74 million on 838 screens in 21 markets for a total of $239.82 million. In China it earned $2.8 million on 394 screens while in Japan it managed $2.50 million on 540 for a total of $29.92 million after three weeks of release.

There were not that many releases from this week
's crop to chart, but it was a newcomer taking top spot as She's the Man
lead both the rental and the sales chart this week. It earned $5.57 million after one week of rentals while the sales figures were not released as usual.

Things are finally starting to pick up from the doldrums of the past two weeks and things should continue to speed up as over the next few weeks we start seeing last year's shows start to hit DVD in anticipation of the upcoming season. This week it is a TV on DVD release that takes the DVD Pick of the Week, but it is not a returning show, but a short-lived one. The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. - The Complete Series
takes the prize with Film Noir
Classic Collection - Volume 3
earning an honorable mention.

Friends with Money easily led the per theatre charts after earning nearly $600,000 in 28 theatres for an average of $21,048.
It was the only film to top $10,000 on the per theatre charts, although last week's winner, Brick came awfully close with $9,490 in 21 theatres.

Thank You for Smoking was again able to lead the way on the per theatre charts despite expanding from 5 to 54 theatres. In those 54 theatres, the film earned just over $1 million for an average of $18,591.
Second place went to the only other film in the $10,000 club and the overall box office leader, The Inside Man, with $10,275.

were spread out over many difference films and partially because many winners were well into their releases.

coming the closest with $65,000 in 7 theatres for an average of $9,326.

During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. Just when I thought the slump was over, we have the shortest list in a few weeks. The best site of the week was Brick

, (although for that last one, they were all the less prestigious technical awards.
