This includes first place openings Germany where it made $15.15 million on 814 screens, while it remained in first place in the U.K. with $14.53 million on 541 screens over the weekend for a total of $49.54 million.

In all 60 markets Quantum of Solace is playing in, it is ahead of Casino Royale's pace. In many cases it has earned more than double the previous film's box office at the same point in its run. If it can keep up this pace, $500 million internationally is well within range while $600 million is not out of the question. Regardless, it is aiming to become the biggest hit of the year on the international scene.

Second place went to High School Musical 3: Senior Year, but we will get to that film, and the rest of the top 30, on Sunday.
