GRIND HOUSE is ready to go...

February 5, 2006

The Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino mash-up exploitation flick GRIND HOUSE is set to begin filming this month (February) in Austin, Texas. Rodriguez will direct "Project Terror" his zombie flick and Tarantino will direct "Death Proof" a slasher-based film. Each will contribute shorts, commercials and trailers to run before, during and after the 60-minute features. Tarantino has already confirmed a trailer for "Cowgirls in Sweden" and has mentioned that similar kung-fu and blaxploitation are in the works. While casting hasn't been announced, John Jarratt (WOLF CREEK) is expected to star in "Death" and Rodriguez staple Danny Trejo will have a part in "Terror". Rodriguez will serve as cinematographer on both films. GRIND is expected to be released later this year but with the history of the Weinsteins delaying projects for indefinite periods of time, don't hold your breath. (from Joblo.com)
