Synopsis

ABC's OF DEATH 2 is the follow-up to the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning from Nigeria to UK to Brazil and everywhere in between. It features segments directed by over two dozen of the world's leading talents in contemporary genre film. The film is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free rein in choosing a word to create a story involving death. Provocative, shocking, funny and at times confrontational, ABC's OF DEATH 2 is another global celebration of next generation genre filmmaking.

DVD and Blu-ray Releases for February 3rd, 2015

February 2nd, 2015

It is a slow week on the home market, and will remain a slow week until the winter blockbusters start coming out. According to Amazon.com, this week the biggest release is John Wick. Granted, the Blu-ray Combo Pack is Pick of the Week material, but the film only made $43 million at the box office, so it likely won't sell a lot on the home market. The other two contenders for Pick of the Week are The Overnighters on DVD or Blu-ray and Dear White People - Buy from Amazon: DVD or Blu-ray. Are three are worth picking up. The Overnighters is arguably the best, but I love the Film Noir style in John Wick, so I'm awarding that one the Pick of the Week. More...

Birdman poster

For the third weekend in a row, Birdman led the per theater chart. In fact, this week it was the only one in the $10,000 club earning an average of $10,348 in 231 screens. At this point, the film has already earned some measure of mainstream success, while it still has room to grow. More...

Limited Releases: From A to Z

October 31st, 2014

Horns poster

It's a really bad week for limited releases. There are only three films earning overwhelmingly positive reviews, but two of them are documentaries and the other is an experimental 3D film, so their chances of earning some measure of mainstream success are nearly zero. The most prominent new release on this week's list is Horns, but its reviews, its genre, and the fact that it is playing on Video on Demand suggests it won't find an audience in theaters. More...
