“I do not care if we go down in history as barbarians.” These words, spoken by Romania’s military dictator Marshal Ion Antonescu in the Council of Ministers in the summer of 1941, started the ethnic cleansing on the Eastern Front.

It’s an odd week for limited releases, as at first glance there were so many films coming out this week that I feared I would have to be a little more judicious when it came to trimming the list to a manageable size. However, it turns out that wasn’t a problem, as so many films have no, or almost no, reviews. There are some films that are worth checking out, but I don’t know if any of them will find an audience. Rosie does have the best shot, but even then, I’m not bullish about its chances. David Crosby: Remember My Name, I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians, and Luz also deserve to find audiences, but they all have serious obstacles in their way. More...
