It was the only film to earn more than $10,000 on the theater average chart this past weekend. It dominated the competition with an average of $30,076, which is the third best average for a wide release this year, behind Beauty and the Beast ($41,508) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 ($33,704). It’s a really busy week for limited releases, but it is a case of quantity over quality. There are no films that really stand out as potential hits this weekend. That’s not to say there are no films worth checking out, but for the most part this list is filled with films that are good, but not great.
