Synopsis
Ignoring all advice, she travels to the birthplace of flamenco, JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA, to learn from great gypsy masters of the art and to understand the deeper meaning behind the baile (dance) and the cante (song). Being an outsider, Maria is faced with the gypsies’ jealousy and betrayal as her drive to succeed is challenged. Undaunted, she slowly enters gypsy flamenco society ultimately marrying into a traditional gypsy family. By following her dream Maria not only finds love, but also discovers something much deeper— what it means to live her life in flamenco by freeing her deepest passions for the dance, the art and life itself.
