April 28th, 2004

For the fourth time in five weeks no film could make $10,000 per theatre this weekend. In fact, we only have three films in our charts making more than half that. Number one on the chart is This So-Called Disaster and it could only make $8435 in its lone theatre. More...

Close, but no Cigar

March 31st, 2004

No team could muster $10,000 per theatre this weekend, but two movies came awfully close. Bon Voyage, last week's winner, took top spot with an impressive $9,879 average in 6 theatres. Just $6 behind was Dogville which opened in 9 theatres. More...

Hello Lenin!

March 11th, 2004

Its per theatre average climbed nearly 10%. Now a movie having its per theatre average climb after the Oscars isn't surprising. However, Goodbye, Lenin! was ignored by the Oscar nomination committee. So the increase bodes very well for its long term success. More...

Mormons and Mountains

Only two films topped $10,000 per theatre this week, but the race was top spot was close enough to make it an interesting weekend on the per theatre charts. Touching the Void remained in first place with $14,837, down just 24% percent from last weekend. In second place with $14,311 was Latter Days. It is particularly interesting to see Latter Days perform so well as Madstone Theaters pulled the from its theatres allegedly due to, 'aesthetic reasons.' More...

Filling the Void

January 29th, 2004

The mountain climbing documentary, Touching the Void, topped this week's Per Theatre Average chart. The film earned almost $100 thousand in just 5 theatres for an impressive average of $19,395. That was nearly double the second place contender, Empathy, which took in $11,975 in its only theatre. More...

Quirky Comedies, Bollywood Drama and Documentary or Two

January 23rd, 2004

Plenty of movies open in limited release this weekend and that means plenty of choices for eclectic tastes. While none of the new releases have a really strong shot at mainstream success, a couple of them could be signs of things to come. More...
