Mars is God of IMAX Screens

February 1, 2006

Roving Mars, the latest edutainment movie to hit IMAX screens everywhere, was a hit taking in $412,000 on just 27 screens for an average of $15,272. This is a better start than both Magnificent Desolation and Wild Safari but not up to the level most DMR Hollywood releases earn.

This is further proof that the IMAX market has made a fundamental switch from edutainment to Hollywood Blockbuster, but this is a change that all parties should welcome.

And speaking of Hollywood Blockbusters, it was recently announced that V for Vendetta will be the latest such film to get the IMAX Experience to open day-and-date with the regular format next month.
