DVD and Blu-ray Releases for February 9th, 2010

February 9th, 2010

Not a particularly great week for DVD or Blu-ray releases. The biggest movie to hit the home market is Couples Retreat, but it was a terrible movie and should be avoided at all costs. The best film coming out this week is A Serious Man and while the DVD is worth picking up, the Blu-ray is the better deal. However, the Pick of the Week goes to The Guild: Season Three, which is one of the funniest things on the Web. More...

DVD Releases for July 14th, 2009

July 13th, 2009

It's that time of year when TV on DVD releases dominate the list of top-notch releases That's not to say there are no first run releases, but none of them are worth anything more than a rental. As for contenders for DVD Pick of the Week, there are three: Mad Men - Season Two on DVD or Blu-ray, Leverage - Season 1 on DVD, and The State - The Complete Series on DVD. Mad Men - Season Two is the best, and the Blu-ray is the better deal, but they are all worthy of the DVD Pick of the Week. More...

Slumdog Really is a Millionaire on the Per Theater Chart

November 26th, 2008

Slumdog Millionaire remained on top of the Per Theater Chart this week with an average of $29,619. This was just 18% less than last weekend, despite tripling its theater count and that makes its performance all the more impressive. The only other film in the $10,000 club was the overall box office leader, Twilight, which earned an average of $20,368 in 3,400 theaters. More...

Movie Website Reviews for Weekend of November 21, 2008

November 22nd, 2008

There were very few movies released this week, and fewer sites that are remotely noteworthy. That said, there are two sites on this week's list, Bolt - Official Site and I Can't Think Straight - Official Site, that were given the Weekly Website Award. More...

Limited Releases are Looking for Something Special

November 21st, 2008

Not the busiest week for Limited Releases with only six such films on this week's list. And of those, only two are opening in more than one theater, including a Canadian film. None are obvious contenders for breakout success, but The Betrayal likely has the best chance. More...
