Budget Note

The production cost for Couples Retreat was rumored to be over $70 million. Universal, however, put the figure at $60 million (see L.A. Times, October 8, 2009). The difference may be because tax incentives reduced the overall negative cost. In line with our standard practices, we are reporting the official studio figure.

Note: Universal financed 75% of the movie's budget and Relativity Media covered the other 25%.
