Darkening a Theatre Near You

June 2, 2004

Despite an impressive cast and excellent reviews, Donnie Darko wasn't able to make much of an impact when it was first released more than two and a half years ago. Maybe the concept of a six-foot tall demonic looking rabbit was a hard sell to the moving going audience. It doesn't matter what the reason was, the film deserved a much better fate. Since it hit the home market, Donnie Darko has developed a cult following and starting tonight you have another chance to see the film in the theatres. Donnie Darko: The Director's Cut opens in 7 theatres in the Seattle, Washington are before moving around the art house circuit. The director's cut features some 20 minutes of additional footage, new visual effects and new music to help convey Richard Kelly's original vision.
