Theater Counts

April 21, 2005

A string of medium-sized new releases this weekend: The Interpreter, A Lot Like Love and King's Ransom debut on somewhere between 1,500 and 2,750 theaters each, while Kung Fu Hustle expands into 2,500 theaters after a run in limited release. This congestion will make for an interesting battle for box office supremacy, but won't lead to a record opening for any of the movies in question.
